  4. The biggest problem with Steinberg Cubase is, it it totally over crowded bloat ware compared to Cockos Reaper which is a light delight to use!
    Steinberg over complicated there software that cost a ridiculous fortune. Even when it’s free, it’s 😞 In my opinion!

        I am with you here. I have made use of the numerous keyboard shortcuts in Cubase and find it Sooo much quicker to navigate through..
        Give those some work.. Some are 4 fingers but they work well.. take care

    5. I get what you’re saying but…When composing with Midi utilizing large orchestra templates and libraries, Cubase is superior. If one’s focus is Audio, it doesn’t really matter which DAW one uses. I do agree though that Reaper is a fantastic and light weight option.

  9. Cubase is a great all-around, feature-packed DAW. Too bad it’s such an eyesore. The UI feels outdated (especially on Windows) and some design decisions are questionable. Small buttons, even smaller text, a critical lack of contrast (light gray text on gray background is devilish), a clunky browser and many more things make this software tedious to use. Every single action requires way more clicks that it should. What the hell is Steinberg even doing?

    I really wanted to buy Cubase 14 but the user experience during the trial was so bad, it made me bought Studio One Pro instead… And I really hate the new update plan, but I’m okay to pay for peace of mind

  15. When I try to add an instrument track, Groove Agent doesn’t show up? I’ve reloaded the library manager several times, but nothing there ? How can I fix?

    1. Ok, I repply to myself, sorry !
      I case of trouble with Cubase 14 and Arturia VST, try to reinstall all Arturia instruments using ASC software. It worked for me.

  22. Works great in Windows 11. However missing new content. Missing: Omivocal, Groove Agent 6, Writing Room Synths, 5GB of Song Starter Packs, New Drum Machine Presets.

    1. I was able to download Omivocal, Writing Room Synths from Steinberg for free and they installed and are working. They only had Groove Agent 6 SE so I didn’t download it because it is a limited edition and I have the full GA5. Decided I didn’t want the Drum Machine Presets or Song Starter Packs but they were available.

  24. A million thank yous!! It’s running fine for me.But is it just me, or does this version not have the ability to select your vst folders in the VST Plug-In Manager page? I see the plugin list, but I don’t see the option to select other folders where 3rd party VST would potentially be located. This is usually located in the bottom left of that window.

    2. There is a on/off button for VST2 in the plugin manager, when enabled a gear icon will appear for defining additional “search” folders.

  31. I’m running into a problem, tried to fix myself, but unsuccessful… I did everything step by step as it was written in the guide, but still I get System error: The code execution cannot proceed because R2RTRUST.dll was not found… Anyone else had this problem and maybe got a solution?

    3. Perhaps you had a previous Cubase from Team VR. However, this Cubase is from Team R2R. Try reinstalling it. You might also need to remove Activation Manager Unlocker. Also the activation manager and then reinstall the activation manger again.In short, everything that refers to Team VR. Also, test your Silk emulator and the System R2R certificate. Further more, check if your anti-virus blocked the R2Rtrust.dll. Try to reinstall R2R system and add an exception to it so your anti-virus does not quarantaine it, if that is the case.

  33. I followed all the necessary steps noted in the R2R.txt file and when starting Cubase, I get an error message:

    “The code execution cannot proceed because R2RTRUST.dll
    was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem”

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Have you imported and tested the R2RCA Root Certificate? Have you installed the latest R2R system version 1.51? Have you installed the Steinberg Silk Emulator? You might also want to check if your antivirus software has quarantined the file. You can try reinstalling system R2R 1.51 (the latest version) to see if it works now. In a worst-case scenario, uninstall everything and download the VR version—rather than the R2R version—from a site like Rutracker.org. However, both versions work fine, provided you follow the instructions correctly and test them properly.
