Bleak Matter is a collection of 60 presets for the U-He Diva virtual synthesizer. The soundset is built on the idea of imperfection—rough, lo-fi textures shaped by evolving modulation create expressive, lively, and distinctive timbres. These sounds add a distinctive atmosphere to any track, performance, or visual project.
The primary goal of this collection was to explore Diva’s ability to emulate vintage sounds. To achieve this, the Trimmers section was used extensively in each preset, adding subtle randomness and instability. Combined with modulation techniques that emulate analog circuits and retro coloration, the result is a collection of sounds with warmth, depth, and an organic, nostalgic feel.
Each preset is stage-ready, with velocity sensitivity and assigned ModWheel parameters for expressive control. ModWheel adds additional modulations—such as brightness, tonal shifts, or dynamic movement—offering creative flexibility for both studio work and live performance.
Installation: Place the Anton Anru – Bleak Matter folder in:
C:\Users\=username=\Documents\u-he\Diva.data\Presets\Diva
